See The Jewelry Worn In Ocean’s 8 At The Cartier Mansion Before The Film Opens
If you are in New York City during Memorial Day weekend and you are looking for some cool jewelry related things to do, you won’t want to miss the Cartier Mansion’s exhibit of its role as the exclusive jewelry partner to the film. The landmark store also starred as a key location in the film, where scenes were filmed. The exhibit which opened yesterday on May 25th and which I had to run over and see, will continue to run through June 8th when the film opens in theaters nationwide. Therefore those returning from the beach or those visiting Manhattan can also catch the celebrated display before they see the film.

Cartier was approached to create the 1.5 million diamond necklace that drives the plot in the movie and loan other new, high jewellery, watches and pieces from the brand’s personal collection for the newest in the Oceans franchise with an all-female lead cast. The Warner Bros. Pictures in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, a Rahway Road production stars Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean who gathers a crew to steal the necklace at the MET Gala in NYC. Anne Hathaway in her character as actress Daphne Kluger wears the diamond necklace that is targeted for the heist.
The historic necklace which I wrote about in my earlier article of the film, named after and a tribute to the creative director throughout the 1930s, Jeanne Toussaint is the highlight of the exhibit. Additionally, on display at the Fifth Avenue Mansion is an array of pieces from the Cartier Collection – historic items from the Maison’s personal collection of works, which are featured throughout the film, worn by the rest of the cast and those that made cameo appearances.
The Valentino dress worn by Hathaway in the movie will be on display for a limited time at the mansion.
